Hyper x Fise Community Event

My bike sponsor, Hyper Bmx, played a big part at Fise Birmingham. Not only did they pull up with a stand displaying their bikes by the course, and flew over the ammeter winner of the previous stop in Montpellier to compete here, but they also had 25 bmx bikes ready for their community event!

Midway through the Fise World Cup event Hyper hosted a bike riding clinic, with the help of the local YMCA organisation and a handful of olympian and pro bmx riders, allowing local underprivileged kids to be taught how to ride a bike, how to use their local skatepark as well as be gifted their very own bmx bike to take home.

The legendary ‘Catfish’ who is the event commentator played a big role in leading the event, having riders such as myself guiding the handle bars of the children up and down the street, and once they got the hang of that, we headed to Birminghams fantastic skate park facility to give them a feeling for the beginner ramps. Sharing the good bmx can do is a huge part of why I love doing these things, we definitely opened the eyes of potentially future olympians or local legends, to an experience that could change the course of their life through sport & community.

There’s not many professional or olympic sports you could bump into an Olympic champion down at your local park, or be taught how to ride a bike by, but you can in Bmx! Thank you to all involved in making the Birmingham Bmx community event happen!
